On April 27th my family came out and helped us to get ready for the water. As you can see in the pictures we got everything boxed and set up off the floor or ready to load up and haul out. Corrine, Nicki, Susie and I worked in the house while Dave, De and Howie worked outside in the garage and shed. Dave found 3 kittens in a box. I got them to a kitten rescue so they wouldn't get hurt or killed.
Finally we had a few dry days. Dave was using the JD8630 to disc.
Howie and I took turns using the JD4440 with the field cultivator and cultipacker. On May 1st Dave started planted the corn in the New Lake. You can see his "Poor Mans GPS". Look for the orange flags in the field.
Look at that wall cloud.
On Saturday there was a Blue Herron standing in the East field. Dave and I both said that is a bad sign.
On Sunday the river came up enough that the East fields started to flood. We can still drive in to the house and shop by way of Silvers Rd. The water is flowing fast over the driveways and still raising. It is suppose to crest in the next couple of days. We got more rain today. I hope that doesn't change the river stage much.
Happy Spring,
Love,
Mickey
